Coblentz Hall, a dining hall and residence hall, is the setting for the beginning of lifelong friendships, festive holiday dinners and formal dances.
The basement of Coblentz houses a game room, complete with several TVs and video game consoles. The other end is the Cheryl Brown Dreiling ’69 Seminar Room, which is used for meetings, luncheons, and presentations. The dining hall is on the main floor. Floors two through four are residence halls for upperclass students.
The building was completed in 1922. It was named for Emory Coblentz, a father of six Hood graduates and a member of the Board of Trustees who played a critical role in the growth of the College from 1914 until his death in 1941.
